It seems we are very fortunate to have the beautiful and rare Yellow-bellied gliders on the property. According to this Vic forest coup map,
There are recorded local sightings and a known Yellow-bellied glider habitat conservation area is directly on our southern boundary. I've occasionally heard some very weird sounds overnight that I could never explain, now I know.
"Yellow-bellied gliders have a range of fantastic vocalizations including shrieks, rattles, and gurgles - the typical call starts with a soft hoot, is followed with a loud shriek which leads into a gurgling, throaty rattle", take a listen here!
Who will be the first to actually see one? especially in flight
